Transforming Norwich breaks down barriers

medium12009: Transforming Norwich aims to break down the barriers between churches and help them on the ground with whatever they are doing, chairman Rev Nicholas Vesey told its AGM, held at St Peter Mancroft's Octagan on June 11.

The AGM also received the Annual Report which looks back over a busy year which included: a Missions Fair in January, prayer initiatives including Adopt a Week of Prayer, the Global Day of Prayer and Ministers Praying Together; a guide to helping the homeless; a Good Friday silent march of reconciliation and a successful Graham Kendrick concert in April.

ForumFair4WebTransforming Norwich Development Officer John Betts has been organising the Church Community Action Fair (pictured right), working with churches and Norwich City Council to look at issues over building and planning permissions and exploring the possibilities of setting up a crisis Foodbank project in Norwich.

The City Church Dialogue process has moved forward, under the leadership of YMCA Norfolk CEO John Drake, including meetings with government ministers Stephen Timms and Sadiq Khan and one with the Norwich City Council Community Engagement Team.
