Paper takes Christmas Good News into homes

Good news stories about the Christian faith will be seen in 56,000 homes across Norwich this Christmas, thanks to a bold and innovative move by popular Christian tabloid newspaper Good News for Norwich & Norfolk.

 

Stories include the Norfolk landlady who has swapped last orders for holy orders by leaving her pub for the church, a former Police chief constable who forgave his son’s terrorist killer and a millionaire who found happiness not in money, but by faith in Jesus.

 

The long-standing Good News paper has been delivered to homes across Norwich and Norfolk every Christmas for the past 18 years by a small army of church members. This year, the publishing team decided to give supporters a break and instead print copies of the paper inside the Norwich Advertiser, which goes to 56,000 homes right across the city.

 

Copies will therefore not generally be available in churches and for those who do not get a copy of the Advertiser, you can download your own copy of Good News on this website by clicking here.

 

Editor Keith Morris said: “We believe that the newspaper still serves a very important purpose in promoting positive personal stories about Christians and Christian projects. We have therefore been looking at alternative methods of distributing the paper and have taken this exciting step of faith.”

 

Distribution manager, Les Champion, said: “We believe that this represents a great opportunity and a very exciting development. Imagine the moment the Advertiser is picked up from the doormat. That moment is God’s moment - please remember to pray that interest is sparked.”

Supporters have been praising the bold move. Mike Wiltshire, from Norwich Family Life Church, said: “This new way of achieving a guaranteed and timely distribution within a secular paper might also give an added impetus to fresh advertisers who will see the potential of reaching a broader audience.”

The usual Easter, Celebrate and Harvest editions of Good News for Norwich & Norfolk will be distributed in the normal manner via churches and projects etc.
