Sheringham church launches new kids club

Lighthouse children 400 CF2016: The Lighthouse Community Church in Sheringham is about to launch a new monthly kids club called Lighthouse Juniors. Tony Rothe reports.

Lighthouse Juniors is a new Saturday group for those who are juniors at school. The church already runs a thriving weekly after-school club, called ‘Schools Out’ on Friday afternoons, and there are also loads of activities for kids and youth of all ages on Sunday mornings. In addition, the weekly youth club 'Mix' is at 7.30pm every Friday for those in years 6 and over.

However, they felt the need for a new club to target the top end of the primary school age range ie school years 3-6 (roughly age 7-11). This will run from 6.30pm to 8pm on one Saturday each month.

Youth pastor at Lighthouse, Pete Skivington, said “The launch of Lighthouse Juniors enables us to build deeper relationships with the kids, have lots of fun, and it will help to act as a bridge between our kids and our youth work.  We have 5 themed nights planned for the spring and summer- including a Ninja Warriors UK theme and events such as Geo-caching and a barbecue, which will make the most of the light summer evenings.”
