YMCA's Norwich fashion show with a difference

A charity fashion show with a difference is being staged by a group of staff from YMCA Norfolk to raise funds for its vital work with vulnerable young people and families across the county.

The YMCA Families team is putting on the Recycled Runway fashion show at St Albans Church Hall near Norwich city centre on Thursday March 17 as part of an evening which will also include clothes to buy from local craftspeople, live entertainment and refreshments.

Families Team Manager, Stephanie Hillier, explained: “The idea is to give fashion inspiration for the whole family. Our fashion show will feature designs sourced from charity shops and donations and will cover all ages and sizes.

“Our show will include hairdressing from John Olivers, make-up from Flawless Beauty and entertainment from Barny Holmes and Dave Guttridge.

Organisers are appealing for more donations of clothes and raffle prizes and for people to buy tickets for the events (from £3).

Stephanie said: “It will be a fun and family friendly event to raise awareness of the YMCA families team and the support we can offer across the county as well as to raise funds to be able to continue to deliver high quality support across the community. We really hope people will come along.”

The Fashion Show takes place at St Albans, Grove Rd, Norwich, NR1 3RL. Doors open at 6.30pm, the show starts at 7pm.

Tickets cost £5, and £3 students and under 18s. They can be purchased by phoning 07436 106475 or emailing stephanie.hillier@ymcanorfolk.org. Tickets will also be available on the night.

Donations or offers of help can also be made to Stephanie.
