How Hill son-rise 600CF

Son-Rise service in Broadland setting

Christians from the Stalham area will be gathering at How Hill near Ludham at dawn on Easter Sunday, April 21, to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.

Each year, around 50 Christians from several local Churches gather together at this beautiful Broadland location to celebrate the risen Christ. The service will start at 6.30am and will be led by David Osbourne, Methodist Church Circuit Steward, and Stalham Baptist Church Minister Ron Skivington.

The service has been held for more than 30 years, and over that time the hardy flock have been treated to ice, snow, balmy spring mornings, marsh mist, magical sun rises and cutting winds sweeping up off the wetlands and river below, and testing the musicianship of the frozen-fingered guitar players.

David Child from Stalham Baptist Church, said “The celebration of God’s love is so much more physically and emotionally powerful on an exposed hillside rather than the cosy comfort bubble of our churches.”

Breakfast will be available afterwards at the Stables at Stalham Baptist Church for all those who attend the service. If you would like breakfast, please phone 01692 582091.
