Cliff Park Community Church Go
Gorleston church active during lockdown

Cliff Park Community Church in Gorleston has been active in supporting the local community during lockdown, helping with food and meals distribution, as well as on-line services and an Alpha course. Tony Rothe reports.

The church has been circulating 1400 invitation cards twice to their local area. The cards offer support (chat, prayer etc) and invitations especially to a specific guest service, as well as the Zoom Alpha which is currently running.

Tony Mallion, from the church leadership, said “As a church based in a local school (Cliff Park Junior) we are unable to meet until September or later. But using Zoom we are able to have regular Sunday services and currently run an Alpha Course. We have twice sent out invitation cards to 2000 homes in the area. We partner with other churches particularly working with the local emergency food bank delivery service through lockdown and continuing to help with a weekly distribution of hot meals during the school holiday. We also support the Identity Youth Project which is currently actively reaching out to young people using social media.”

Cliff Park Community Church (CPCC) was formed in 1997 by members of St Andrews Parish Church and Gorleston Baptist Church with the aim of reaching out into the Cliff Park area of Gorleston.
