Community Gospel Choir brings comfort and joy

The Norwich Community Gospel Choir is fully up and running again, and welcoming new singers. Megan Rawling reports.

We're now meeting in term time from 7:30-9pm on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings (for singers to choose from, or to come to both at no extra cost).

The Tuesday night rehearsal happens at The Sanctuary - formerly St Alban's Church, Grove Walk - and the Wednesday night rehearsal is at the Mousehold Hub - formerly Silver Road Baptist Church, 22 Mousehold Avenue.

New singers are always welcome, and we don't audition or work from a musical score so pretty much anyone can come and check us out any time.

We've got two particularly exciting developments in the pipeline at the moment. Firstly, we're now gearing up towards our Christmas celebration, 'Comfort and Joy', which will be a retelling of the Christmas story in Gospel music and is shaping up to be a wonderful evening. Tickets are available at www.ncgc.org.uk.

And secondly, we're soon going to be launching a third weekly rehearsal - a daytime one for those who aren't keen on coming out in the winter evenings. We're going to be rehearsing on a Friday morning at Chapelfield Road Methodist Church, launching in the New Year. I'm so excited about this, and the opportunity it gives us to engage with another group of Norwich-dwellers.
